She has a degree in Ecology, a background in sales and marketing, and speaks fluent Bulgarian, Russian, and German. In her spare time Neli volunteers for USO at Fort Drum and is a leader in the Family Readiness Group. She is active in the community assisting soldiers and their families of the 10th Mountain Division with "United Through Reading" program, Freedom Team Salute and Gold President's Volunteer Service Award.
